Get to know us

Central City Breakers is a community-focused basketball club founded in 1998 and based in Hawthorn East. Since our beginnings, we have been committed to providing young players with the opportunity to participate in basketball in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

We believe that every child should have the chance to play, learn, and grow through sport. Our club focuses not only on developing fundamental basketball skills, but also on building confidence, teamwork, and strong character. Through supportive coaching and a positive club culture, we aim to create an environment where players of all abilities can enjoy the game, form friendships, and reach their full potential both on and off the court.

Our mission

At Central City Breakers, our mission is to provide every child with the opportunity to participate in basketball within a supportive and encouraging environment. We are committed to delivering quality coaching that focuses on skill development, teamwork, and game understanding, while also promoting respect, discipline, and sportsmanship. Our goal is to help each player not only improve as an athlete but also develop important life skills that extend beyond the game.

Our vision

To build a strong, inclusive basketball community where every player—regardless of skill level or background—feels welcomed, valued, and supported. We aim to inspire a lifelong love for the game while helping young athletes grow in confidence, resilience, and character. Through positive experiences and meaningful connections, we envision a club where players thrive both on and off the court.

Our team

At Central City Breakers, our team is made up of passionate and dedicated coaches who bring a wide range of experience, knowledge, and energy to the club. With coaches of varying ages and backgrounds, we combine fresh perspectives with years of basketball understanding to create a well-rounded and supportive environment for our players.

Each coach is committed to helping players develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game. We take pride in creating positive relationships with our athletes, acting not only as coaches but also as mentors and role models. Our shared goal is to ensure every player feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.
